LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Dear Fellow CLAMS:

At the spring meeting in Ellensburg Stephanie Carter, Centralia College, asked for a volunteer to take on the editorship of the CLAM Chowder. After quite a long, ominous silence I offered to be the editor for one year.

Because it was late in the quarter and we were preoccupied (something of an understatement?) with Endeavor/Voyager I said I would wait until fall quarter to put out an issue. So - here it is, short and sweet, relaying a message from President Paula Palmer (Lake Washington Technical College), the minutes of the spring meeting by Sharon Spence (Seattle Central CC), information re the state trials of databases, and an announcement re the ACRL meeting at Pack Forest, which is taking the place of the CLAMS fall meeting.

Later in the fall I will put out another issue of the Chowder, which will contain updates from all the colleges: expect phone calls from me in a few weeks, asking for news.
